Girl, 16, found dead in suitcase
MANILA, Philippines — A 16-year-old girl who had been reported missing for over a week was found dead in a suitcase in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan on Thursday night.
The suitcase was found floating in the Sapang Alat River in Barangay Graceville at around 9:10 p.m., according to Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police director.
Fajardo said a resident sought the help of the police regarding the stench coming from the river.
“Investigation showed the suitcase may have drifted from a river in Caloocan City, which is adjacent to the area where it was found,” Fajardo said.
Probers said the victim was a resident of Tala in Caloocan. She had been missing since Feb. 7.
A relative said the girl was last seen going to a friend’s house.
Investigation is ongoing.
