Quiboloy back in Pasig jail

MANILA, Philippines — After being confined in a hospital for pneumonia, alleged sex offender Apollo Quiboloy returned to the Pasig City jail on Wednesday night, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology reported yesterday.
BJMP spokesman Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said Quiboloy was initially brought to government-operated Rizal Medical Center on Jan. 18 after complaining of difficulty in breathing.
He was transferred to The Medical City after he was diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia.
On Jan. 23, the Pasig Regional Trial Court Branch 159 ordered Quiboloy’s transfer to the Pasig City General Hospital where he was diagnosed with moderate-risk pneumonia and stage 2 hypertension.
While recuperating in the hospital, the court allowed the religious leader, who is running for senator in the May midterm elections, to record video messages for his campaign.
The court permitted Quiboloy to send pre-recorded messages for members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ during his proclamation rally on Feb. 9.
The Pasig court denied Quiboloy’s request for a live media interview.
