LPA spotted outside PAR

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area has been spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility, but state meteorologists said the LPA is unlikely to develop into a typhoon or directly affect the country.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was spotted 430 kilometers northwest of Pag-asa Island.
Three other weather systems – shear line, intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies – are affecting local conditions, PAGASA said.
The shear line, formed when warm and cold air masses collide, is affecting extreme northern Luzon and will bring rain over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.
The ITCZ will bring heavy rain to some parts of Mindanao, particularly in Caraga and Davao region as well as Bukidnon, Camiguin and Misamis Oriental.
The easterlies, or warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean, are bringing warm and humid conditions over Metro Manila and most parts of the country.
Luzon, including Metro Manila will have fair weather today, but localized thunderstorms may develop in the afternoon and evening due to rising temperatures.
The easterlies are expected to dump rain over the Visayas.
Palawan and some areas in Southern Mindanao will have clear weather with a possibility of thunderstorms developing in the afternoon or evening.
