MANILA, Philippines —  Marijuana plants valued at P2.2 million were uprooted and destroyed in Malungon town in Sarangani, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported yesterday.

In its report, PDEA said a joint team of law enforcement units discovered a farm with at least 11,000 marijuana plants in Barangay B’laan on Thursday.

The marijuana plants were burned on site, it added.

In Angeles City in Pampanga, the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) arrested a 52-year-old woman for selling at least 51 grams of shabu valued at P346,800.

Col. Rolando Cuya Jr., PDEG director, said the suspect, identified as alias Susan, sold the illegal drugs to police agents during a sting in Barangay Pampang.

Cuya said charges of drug trafficking would be filed against the suspect.
