MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday urged all political aspirants and parties as well as party-list groups to register their online campaign platforms on or before Dec. 13.

In a social media post, the Comelec said all candidates, political parties and party-list organizations should have their online campaign platforms for next year’s midterm polls registered.

“Seven days to go before the last day to register online campaign platforms,” the Comelec said in the post.

Comelec Resolution 11064 requires the registration of all official social media accounts and pages, websites, podcasts, blogs, vlogs and other online and internet-based campaign platforms.

The Comelec, based on its latest count, received 3,904 applications for registration through its Google Forms. Of the figure, 24 applications are from senatorial aspirants and 3,775 from local aspirants.

At least 105 political parties, coalitions and party-list organizations have also asked to have their online campaign platforms registered.

The resolution also requires the transmittal of the hard copies of the documents submitted online. At least 2,096 applicants have already complied.
