Warehouse fire out after nearly 3 days
MANILA, Philippines — A fire that broke out at a warehouse in Barangay Bagbaguin, Valenzuela City on Thursday was finally extinguished on Saturday night.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire reached Task Force Bravo before it was put out at around 10:30 p.m.
At least 800 families from Barangay Bagbaguin, Canumay West and Paso de Blas who sought shelter in four evacuation centers last Thursday returned to their homes on Saturday afternoon.
“Our evacuation centers did not close so they can still get free food, free medicines,” Mayor Weslie Gatchalian said.
At least eight houses were affected by the fire due to the collapse of the warehouse’s firewall but no injuries were reported.
Arson probers estimate the fire destroyed approximately P30 million to P50 million worth of property.
