Carmona plebiscite gun ban starts today
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A gun ban will be enforced and checkpoints will be established in Carmona, Cavite starting today in view of the plebiscite to be held on July 8.
Col. Christopher Olazo, Cavite police director, said the gun ban would be in effect until the end of the plebiscite period on July 15.
The plebiscite will ratify the conversion of Carmona into a city as provided under Republic Act 11938.
A plebiscite joint security command conference was recently held at the Carmona community center in Barangay Cabilang Baybay. It was presided by Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia and attended by Commissioner Aimee Ferolino, regional election officer Monalisa Mamukid as well as police and local officials.
