MANILA, Philippines — A British tourist was found dead, floating in the waters off Cuyo, Palawan on Saturday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported yesterday.
The body of Derek Arthur Silverthorne, 79, was retrieved by personnel of the PCG near Bisucay Island.
Silverthorne was declared dead on arrival at the Cuyo District Hospital. He was reportedly vacationing in Barangay Catadman and had been frequenting Cuyo since 2008.
The PCG station in Eastern Palawan said they received information that a body was spotted floating near the island.
