Negros Occidental logs 5 COVID-19 deaths

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Although COVID cases in Negros Occidental have dropped this month, the province logged five fatalities due to the disease as of Saturday.

From a peak of 208, the cases went down to 68, as shown from records provided by the provincial incident management team.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is still encouraging the use of face masks in crowded and enclosed places.
From March 27, 2020 up to yesterday, the province recorded 44,650 cases, 42,511 recoveries and 2,070 fatalities.

Provincial health officer Ernell Tumimbang urged Negrenses, especially the unvaccinated and those who did not avail themselves of booster shots, to visit the nearest rural health cen-ters for vaccination.
