CSC pays tribute to fallen state workers
MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has paid tribute to government workers who died in 2022 while in the line of service, especially the frontliners against COVID-19.
In his Christmas message, CSC Chairman Karlo Nograles urged state workers to take time to “remember and honor” their fellow civil servants who sacrificed their lives to serve the Filipino people.
“We will never forget all our fellow government workers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. They were truly lingkod bayani (servant-heroes). Let us honor their legacy and be inspired by their examples to do our best in the service of our people,” Nograles said.
He also commended all government workers for their “unwavering dedication to serve the people amid the challenges brought by the continuing pandemic and the natural calamities we faced this year.”
“We salute you for forging ahead and showing up even when times are tough,” Nograles said.
Meanwhile, in a gift-giving event in Davao City yesterday, Vice President Sara Duterte called on the public to observe the three virtues of Christmas: love, forgiveness and sharing.
Duterte said these virtues would “lead people to live in peace because we forgive and share, especially to those who are not able to receive anything in this season.”
Duterte yesterday attended her family’s traditional Christmas gift-giving for the people of Davao at the ancestral house of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, along Taal Road, Central Park Subdivision in Davao City.
