4 die in Cagayan road mishap
SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines — Four persons died while eight others were injured when a car hit two tricycles in Gonzaga, Cagayan on Saturday night.
Donato Barsatan died instantly while his wife and their child together with a companion identified as Velvet Geron were declared dead on arrival at a nearby hospital. Eight others were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The victims were in separate tricycles when they were hit by a Toyota Fortuner driven by Rodolfo Batin, 56, who was allegedly drunk, according to Lt. Orlan Capili, Gonzaga deputy police chief.
Barsatan’s tricycle had nine persons on board while the other had three.
Capili said charges of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide, physical injuries and damage to property would be filed against Batin.
