Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The suspects in the killing of a South Korean man in Pasay City on Friday were arrested, police reported yesterday.

Pasay police chief Col. Byron Tabernilla identified the suspects as Jerome Caratao and Prince Elezer Tupas.

The two were implicated in the death of Lee Seung Hoon,45, who was gunned down along Roxas Boulevard in Barangay 13 at around 4:23 a.m. on Friday.

Tabernilla said Caratao and Tupas were identified by witnesses as the same persons who robbed Lee, who was then walking toward Arnaiz Avenue.

One of the suspects shot Lee after he allegedly fought back. The victim was brought to the San Juan de Dios Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival after sustaining a gunshot wound in the back.

Caratao was apprehended in a follow-up operation along Primo de Mayo street in Barangay 90 in Pasay at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Tupas, meanwhile, was collared in Barangay Pulo Landayan in San Pedro City, Laguna yesterday at around 3:20 a.m.

The suspects are being held on charges of robbery with homicide.
