Briton arrested in Cebu drug sting

MANILA, Philippines — A British citizen and two other persons were arrested in a drug sting in Cebu City on Tuesday.

Web designer Allan Ross, 44, was accused of maintaining a drug den at his condominium unit in Barangay Apas, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Ross was apprehended at around 4:10 p.m., the PDEA’s Central Visayas office reported.

Miraflor Verona, 30, and Hyacinth Medez, 19, who were in Ross’ condominium unit during the anti-narcotics operation, were arrested.

In Baguio City, law enforcers dismantled a suspected drug den in the rented room of Cristina Escopete along Bakake Norte Road, the National Bureau of Investigation-Cordillera Administrative Region office reported.

Escopete’s companions Steven Donne Halili and Jayson Due Prodon were arrested for alleged possession of 1.48 grams of shabu.– Ghio Ong
