Viral Chinese BGC police car just movie prop’

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Chinese police car spotted by a netizen in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig is not a real police car but a prop for a French movie, authorities clarified yesterday.

A photo of the supposed Chinese police car near an establishment in BGC went viral on social media.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Taguig police said it “was not a real police car.” “It was used to shoot a portion of Tikkoun, a French drama series.”

Police said the shooting of the film took place on Sunday morning.

The event was coordinated with the Bonifacio Estate Services Corp. But those responsible for the movie shoot failed to inform the BGC tourist police.

The Taguig police asked establishment owners to notify them about similar events in the future.

Police also denied the series of robberies recorded in BGC recently.

“We want to assure the public that BGC remains safe. Lawmen regularly conduct patrols in the area,” the Taguig police said.
