P13.77 million shabu seized in Luzon stings

MANILA, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P13.77 million was seized in Rizal, Cavite and Olongapo City in the past two days.

Reports reaching Central Luzon police director Brig. Gen. Cezar Pasiwen said Jayvee de Jesus, Ramon Mozaga and Ronna Marie dela Vega yielded shabu worth P1.02 million in Barangay New Asinan in Olongapo yesterday.

On Monday, siblings Diadema and Betty Babasa were apprehended in Barangay Gulod Malaya in San Mateo, Rizal for alleged possession of 1.02 kilos of shabu worth P6.97 million.

Police said 850 grams of shabu valued at P5.78 million were confiscated from Dexter Santos, Arlenne Navarro and Ruffa Maie Gervacio in Barangay Salitran IV in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

In Maguindanao, Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director, said P680,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from Amilodin Guima Akmad in Datu Odin Sinsuat town.

Guyguyon said two of Akmad’s cohorts escaped.

P1.2-M marijuana destroyed

Meanwhile, marijuana leaves worth more than P1.2 million were seized in Bakun, Benguet in simultaneous operations dubbed “Oplan Kaya Pa“ over the weekend.

The First Provincial Mobile Force Company and Bakun police said fully grown marijuana plants and marijuana seedlings worth P688,880 were uprooted in eight plantations in Sitios Lipay, Caot, Liblibo and Indadangan in Barangay Kayapa.

A raid on 10 other plantations yielded marijuana plants worth P560,000.

All the marijuana plants were destroyed and burned, except for a few samples submitted for qualitative testing.

In Quezon, construction worker Jomar Albelar was arrested for allegedly delivering a bowl of rice, which contained a sachet of shabu worth P5,000, to an inmate at the Lucena City detention facility on Monday.
