3 workers held for theft of P29 million window sets
MANILA, Philippines — Three employees of a window manufacturing company in Valenzuela City were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing P292,000 worth of window sets.
Office staff Marivic Manaog, 29; supervisor Mark Dorenn Ortega, 30, and production staff Ferdinand Pletchetero, 31, are in police custody.
Police said a fellow employee saw Pletchetero taking five sets of sliding windows with screens from the company’s warehouse in Barangay Paso de Blas.
Asked who ordered the release of the window sets, Pletchetero said Manaog and Ortega instructed him.
The company’s general manager told police he did not approve the release of the window sets. He called police and barangay officials for help to arrest the three employees.
Police discovered 79 sets of sliding windows with screens and 43 sets of awning glass windows in Manaog’s house, located near the company’s warehouse.
Manaog, Ortega and Pletchetero face charges of qualified theft, police said.
