Job vacancies available for tourism workers
MANILA, Philippines — Thousands of job vacancies are available nationwide for tourism workers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported yesterday.
“Based on initial survey reports from the Department of Tourism’s regional offices, there are about 1,500 job vacancies solicited from DOT’s private partners as of Aug. 27,” Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said in a statement.
Laguesma said the DOT will mount a series of job fairs to fill these vacancies.
As part of the tourism job fair series, a virtual fair will be conducted from Sept. 22 to 24 in the cities of Cebu and Davao.
A face-to-face job fair will also be held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
“Taking advantage of new technologies, we guarantee that this avenue to connect job seekers with employers, and vice versa, is accessible to the tourism sector’s pool of workers nationwide, andwill accelerate their job search and placement,” Laguesma said.
