MANILA, Philippines — A Manila policeman is in hot water after he was caught using a commemorative plate on his vehicle, the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) reported yesterday.

The HPG said it has coordinated with the policeman’s superior for the imposition of administrative sanctions.

The HPG did not identify the lawman, who is assigned with the Ermita police station 5.

A photograph of the policeman’s Toyota Fortuner posted on mobility website Visor showed the sport utility vehicle (SUV) with a commemorative plate “Matatag 2007.”

The policeman was disembarking from his SUV, based on the photograph.

The HPG reminded motorists not to use illegal license plates on their vehicles.
