SC bans use of court seal on unauthorized vehicles
MANILA, Philippines — Supreme Court officials and employees are no longer authorized to use the SC seal on privately owned vehicles.
The SC issued a resolution on July 5 reiterating the prohibition on the use of stickers and license plates bearing the high court’s seal.
Violators may face indirect contempt of court and criminal prosecution.
The high tribunal previously issued a directive, banning the production and sale of unauthorized items bearing the SC seal.
The SC is also against the display of the seal on non-official vehicles without authorization from the court.
The prohibition also covers courtesy and security plates of former SC officials.
“Persons or entities violating the policy will be held accountable for indirect contempt of court. They may also be prosecuted criminally or administratively,” the SC said.
