128 CARP beneficiaries receive land titles
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 128 agrarian reform beneficiaries in North Cotabato became new landowners after they received certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently.
Provincial agrarian reform program officer Charish Paña said the beneficiaries were residents of 18 barangays in Makilala town.
The CLOAs covered 149.9 hectares of land implemented under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
“I would like to congratulate all the beneficiaries on their recent victory. It is a great opportunity and a privilege to be an ARB. Take good care of the land and make it productive,” Paña said in a speech during a ceremony.
“The beneficiaries were oriented about their responsibilities before the CLOAs were released to them,” municipal agrarian reform program officer Julie Garcia said. ”We reminded them that the DAR would continue to provide support services to make their lands more productive.”
The beneficiaries thanked the DAR, saying it was a dream come true for them to finally own the land they have been tilling.
