Negros Occidental stops accepting COVID-19 vaccines
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Citing storage problems, the provincial government of Negros Occidental has stopped accepting COVID vaccines from the national government.
”We cannot accept additional vaccines because our ultra-low freezer is full,” Dr. Claudelia Josefa Pabillo, who is in charge of the provincial health office cold storage facility, said.
Pabillo admitted that the vaccination rate, including booster shots among senior citizens in some areas in the province, has remained low.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson reiterated his call for local chief executives to launch COVID vaccination campaigns, especially in areas with low uptake.
