Alleged American sex offender barred at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Immigration officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) barred a suspected American sex offender from entering the country on Sunday.

Richard Vincent Boyd Rogers, 55, was intercepted upon his arrival at the NAIA Terminal 1 on a United Airlines flight from Guam.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said Rogers was immediately deported to his port of origin.

“Sex offenders are not welcome in the Philippines. They are a threat to public safety,” Morente said.
