Boy, 15, held for gun possession in Samar
TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines — A 15-year-old boy was among three persons arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Tagapul-an island in Samar on Monday.
Lt. Gary Maribojoc, Tagapul-an police chief, said the boy was placed under the custody of the municipal social welfare office.
Initial reports showed that policemen who responded to reports from residents, initially found five persons resting on a copra dryer in the area.
When police introduced themselves, the suspects tried to escape, but three were arrested.
Three .45-caliber pistols, magazines, bullets, three cartridges, a holster, a sling bag, a bladed weapon and cell phones were reportedly recovered from the suspects.
