More flagship projects set for completion – DPWH
MANILA, Philippines — The public can expect a long list of flagship projects under President Duterte’s Build, Build, Build program, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced yesterday.
DPWH Undersecretary Emil Sadain said the flagship projects would be completed and inaugurated before Duterte’s term ends in June.
“These projects will lead to sustained inclusive growth for the benefit of the public,” Sadain said.
He made the statement a day after the President led the opening of the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge in Manila.
The opening of the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge is another testament of President Duterte’s political will to deliver vital projects that will ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila, according to DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado.
Mercado said at least 30,000 motorists are expected to use the four-lane bridge daily.
The bridge has bicycle lanes with reflective thermoplastic road lines as well as protected sidewalks on both sides for the safety of non-motorized road users.
