New Bulacan service road opened

MANILA, Philippines — A new two-lane road that will serve as an alternative route to and from Meycauayan and Marilao, both in Bulacan, was opened yesterday by the government and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp.

Constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Meycauayan-Marilao east service road occupies a portion of the NLEX right-of-way, covering Barangay Lias in Marilao.

The road is one of the government’s traffic decongestion projects to improve Bulacan’s road network, boost economic activity and provide travel convenience to the public.

NLEX Corp. said the the road would help ease traffic volume along the Meycauayan-Marilao corridor as it bypasses the MacArthur Highway and other congested streets.
