NCRPO seizes guns, bombs
MANILA, Philippines — A cache of firearms and explosives was discovered in a bunker in Barangay Pasong Tamo in Quezon City, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported yesterday.
NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao said the daughter of Emerson Agpalo, who was allegedly involved in a shooting last week, reported to police that she found a bunker in the basement of their house following her father’s death on Saturday.
Authorities said they recovered two rifle grenades, a fragmentation hand grenade, four .38-caliber handguns, an improvised long firearm, a 9mm pistol, 34 12-gauge shotguns, 160 bullets and two magazines for an M-16 rifle.
The firearms were turned over to the Quezon City Police District while the bombs were transferred to the QCPD’s explosives and canine unit.
“The key to crime prevention is the trust and confidence of our people. We can thwart crimes if our citizens cooperate with the authorities,” Danao said in a statement.
