MANILA, Philippines — Some roads around three universities in Manila will be closed to motorists on Feb. 4 and 6 for the 2020/2021 Bar examinations, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

The MMDA said traffic rerouting schemes would be implemented by the Manila Police District around the University of Sto. Tomas, Far Eastern University and De La Salle University.

Traffic will be rerouted along the westbound lane of España Boulevard from Lacson Avenue to P. Naval street, the MMDA said.

Motorists going to España Boulevard should turn right to A.H. Lacson Avenue, left to Dapitan or left to A. Mendoza to point of destination. Vehicles from southbound of A.H. Lacson should go straight to Nagtahan.

The westbound lane of N. Reyes street from España Boulevard to Claro M. Recto Avenue will be closed to traffic.

Motorists coming from España Boulevard going to N. Reyes street should turn right to P. Campa street, left to A. Mendoza then to Claro M. Recto to point of destination.

The southbound lane of Taft Avenue from Quirino Avenue to Estrada street will also be closed to motorists.

The MMDA said a stop-and-go traffic scheme would be implemented along España Boulevard, N. Reyes street and Taft Avenue.

“Parking within the vicinity of the venues is prohibited during the Bar exams,” the agency said.

The Supreme Court suspended the Bar exams in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
