MANILA, Philippines — More than P26 million worth of shabu was confiscated by anti-narcotics agents during separate stings in Caloocan City and Makati on Tuesday.

Operatives of the Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) recovered around two kilos of shabu valued at P13.6 million from Janesa Cabardo, 25, during a sting in Barangay Bagong Silang at around 4:30 p.m.

DEG director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said Cabardo negotiated a drug deal with a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Authorities said they also confiscated the suspect’s cell phone, which she used during the transaction.

In Makati, Aldren Mariscal, 21, was apprehended for alleged possession of over P13 million worth of shabu.

City police chief Col. Harold Depositar said Mariscal was nabbed during an operation in Barangay Bangkal.

Police said they recovered from the suspect at least 2,000 grams of shabu and P898,000 in marked money.

Cabardo and Mariscal are being held by police on charges of drug trafficking.

In Manila, two Koreans were arrested during an anti-narcotics operation along Mabini street in Malate on Tuesday.

Jee Wo and Lee Jong Bum allegedly yielded at least 100 grams of shabu amounting to P680,000.

Another drug suspect was nabbed in Binondo.

Police said Ismael Oca, 31, has a pending warrant of arrest issued by a court in Butuan City for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The court set a bail of P240,000 for Oca’s temporary liberty. – Neil Jayson Servallos, Marc Jayson Cayabyab
