Bacolod drops COVID-19 test for vaxxed travelers

Gilbert Bayoran - The Philippine Star

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Fully vaccinated visitors from any point in Western Visayas and Negros Oriental are no longer required to present a negative RT-PCR or reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test when entering this city.

In an order signed by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia on Sunday, the city government modified its travel policies in order to strike a balance between ensuring the people’s health and sustaining the local economy.

Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated persons need to present a negative antigen test result taken 24 hours before travel at any clinic in their point of origin that is accredited by the Department of Health.
