Mobile vax drive set at PITX

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will hold a mobile vaccination drive in Parañaque City from Jan. 24 to 28, Malacañang announced yesterday.

Acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles said the program dubbed “We Vax As One” will be held at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX).

“This program will be specifically offered to transport workers and commuters,” Nograles said in a media briefing.

He said around 500 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine will be allotted for the initiative per day.

“It is open to walk-ins and registration will be done on-site,” the Palace spokesman added.

Nograles said the DOTr would also soon conduct COVID-19 vaccinations in different train stations, ports and tollways.

“The government will continue to explore different methods to make vaccines more accessible to our people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nograles also lauded the successful implementation of the Resbakuna sa Botika at different drugstores and clinics in Metro Manila from Thursday to Friday.

“Next week we will roll out vaccination services in more outlets. I understand that Rose pharmacy will also join the program once it rolls out in the Visayas and Mindanao,” he said.

As of Jan. 20, more than 56.8 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, Nograles said.
