MANILA, Philippines — An online seller was arrested in Manila yesterday for allegedly selling fake flu medicines.

Monique Gamboa was apprehended by members of the Manila Police District Special Mayor’s Reaction Team during a test-buy operation in Sta. Cruz.

Police said 10 Bioflu tablets bought from Gamboa were found to be counterfeit in a laboratory analysis by Unilab.

The suspect’s arrest came as supplies of flu medicines have stabilized since the shortage of paracetamol brands amid the soaring cases of COVID-19 early this month.

Police said 18,000 tablets of fake Bioflu and a box of Neozep pills amounting to P1.1 million were confiscated from Gamboa.
