Gatchalian hosts Christmas fair for elderly, kids

MANILA, Philippines — Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian and his family celebrated Christmas with residents of the city-run elderly and childcare homes.

Gatchalian said he hosted a Christmas fair for residents of Bahay Kalinga, Bahay Pag-asa and Bahay Kanlungan.

While the children were treated to a  magic and circus show, the senior citizens enjoyed a bingo game, according to Gatchalian.

“Christmas party for the kids of Bahay Kalinga and Pagasa – magic show, clowns, burgers, pizza, milk tea, Jollibee, corn dogs, sweets all over, and face painting,” Gatchalian said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

“At Bahay Kanlungan – bingo and Paskong Pinoy – Filipino delicacies and they all get loot bags so that even our seniors are happy,” he added.

Gatchalian said the city government chipped in to host a Christmas fair for the residents.

He thanked the city’s social workers for taking care of the children and senior citizens.
