“Our city malls are very compliant with their vaccination program. In fact, before the year ends, it's possible that all of them will achieve 100%,” said EOC deputy chief implementer and City Councilor Joel Garganera.

CEBU, Philippines — Organic employees in Cebu City malls are now a hundred percent fully vaccinated while almost all employees of tenants and manpower services are vaccinated, data from the Emergency Operations Center revealed.

“Our city malls are very compliant with their vaccination program. In fact, before the year ends, it's possible that all of them will achieve 100%,” said EOC deputy chief implementer and City Councilor Joel Garganera.

Robinsons Cybergate leads the dashboard with all its employees already fully vaccinated, may they be organic, third-party, or tenant employees.

The unvaccinated or partially vaccinated merchant employees of Robinsons Galleria-Cebu are down to 6%, while at the mall’s oldest branch, the one near Fuente Osmeña, non-fully vaccinated tenant employees are down to 7%.

Organic employees and those of mall service providers and manpower agencies of Ayala Center Cebu and Central Bloc and SM City Cebu and Seaside City are now fully-vaccinated, except for some of tenant employees who are partially vaccinated.

About 96% of Ayala Center Cebu merchant employees have received the first dose and 92% second dose. At the Central Bloc, 94% have received their second dose and 97% first dose.

SM Seaside has 98% of its merchant tenants vaccinated, and at SM City-Cebu, 94%.

Il Curso’s organic employees are also 100% vaccinated while its manpower agency is at 87% and merchant employees at 95%.

“This is an initial report on the vaccination percentage of our personnel to some of our malls. This provides safety and a sense of security to both its employees and customers especially in these coming holidays where we expected a bigger crowd,” said Garganera.

Another vax site for minors

Meanwhile, the Cebu City government has opened the Cebu Institute of Technology - University (CIT-U) as the third vaccination site for the pediatric population (12-17-year-olds). The first two are at Southwestern University Phinma and Robinsons Cybergate.

Another site for the pediatric population is expected to open on December 16 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

CCSC was earlier converted into a mega stay-in facility, but will be re-opened for sports soon.

“December 16, it will also be utilized for pedia, and perhaps tingali ato sa i-concentrate ang pedia… Naa may gym didto,” said Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

Rama hopes that before the year ends, Cebu City will already be able to achieve the herd immunity. — Decemay P. Padilla, JMD (FREEMAN)
