6 Nueva Ecija towns, 16 Pangasinan areas now COVID-19 free
MANILA, Philippines — Six towns in Nueva Ecija now have zero active COVID-19 cases, according to the province’s pandemic task force.
These are Talugug, Gabaldon, Gen. Natividad, Jaen, Peñaranda and Cabiao.
Active infections in Nueva Ecija dropped to 127 compared to 179 on Nov. 24, the task force reported.
Fifty-three patients were confined in hospitals, six in isolation facilities while 68 are under home quarantine.
In Pangasinan, 16 areas were reported to have zero active cases. These are Agno, Alaminos, Alaminos City, Balungao, Bautista, Binalonan, Bolinao, Dasol, Infanta. Laoac, Mabini, Mapandan, Natividad, San Fabian, San Jacinto, Sual and Urbiztondo.
Five new cases were recorded in the province yesterday, bringing the active infections to 108.
In La Union, San Fernando City logged no new case yesterday.
Meanwhile, Central Luzon is more than halfway in vaccinating 70 percent of its eligible population, according to the Department of Health (DOH) regional office.
In its bulletin issued on Monday, the DOH-Central Luzon office reported that the number of fully vaccinated residents hit 4,276,997, which is equivalent to 48.83 percent of its target population.
Up to 5,866,455 or 69 percent of the eligible population in the region have received their first dose.
