Duterte names 70 new DOJ prosecutors

MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has approved the appointment of 70 new prosecutors assigned to the Department of Justice.

DOJ Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Duterte appointed two batches of prosecutors for the department’s National Prosecution Service.

Guevarra said additional prosecutors were assigned to Quezon City, Taguig, San Juan, Manila, Las Piñas, Valenzuela and Makati.

The other prosecutors were deployed to provinces including Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro, Negros Oriental, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya, Western Samar and Lanao del Norte.
