BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Combined forces of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Cordillera police torched more than P3 million worth of marijuana in Sadanga, Mountain Province on Sunday.

The anti-drug operation was launched following the discovery of two marijuana plantations in Barangay Saclit, according to Mountain Province police director Col. Ruben Andiso.

The raiding team seized five kilos of dried marijuana leaves worth P600,000 and 22 kilos of marijuana stalks worth P2.6 million.

No one was arrested in the raid.

Meanwhile, in South Cotabato, authorities uprooted 12,000 fully grown marijuana plants in Tampakan town on Saturday.

Anti-narcotics agents from the PDEA and police regional office raided the plantation in Barangay Tablu following reports from residents and local officials, according to Naravy Duquiatan, chief of the PDEA-Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos).

The plantation was reportedly maintained by a certain Jimben Sinaya, who escaped before the raiding team arrived.
