DHSUD turns over housing projects to Quezon City, Malabon
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) has turned over low-cost housing projects to homeowners associations in Malabon and Quezon City, which will benefit low-income families.
A three-story high density housing building located in Barangay Longos, Malabon was turned over to the Marangal Village Homeowners Association Inc. A four-story HDH building in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City was turned over to the Samahang Magkakapitbahay Na Nagkakaisa Homeowners Association Inc.
The DHSUD said the Malabon project would benefit 282 families.
The Quezon City project will accommodate 92 informal settler families living along the Tullahan River.
The projects were carried out by the DHSUD Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) in coordination with the local government units.
“I can say that these are housing projects that we can be proud of…decent yet affordable,” DHSUD Secretary Eduardo del Rosario said during the ceremonial turnover of the projects on Wednesday.
SHFC president Ricardo Arnolfo Cabling said the projects would cater to low-income families through flexible and affordable housing loan terms.
During the turnover ceremony, Quezon City 5th District Rep. Alfred Vargas, representing Mayor Joy Belmonte, extended the city’s gratitude to the DHSUD for the completion of the housing project.
Malabon Mayor Antolin Oreta III also attended the ceremony and thanked the DHSUD for helping his constituents.
