Active COVID-19 cases in Mandaluyong drop

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mandaluyong has decreased by at least 20 percent.

Data from the local government’s public information office showed that there were 814 active cases of COVID-19 in the city as of Wednesday, lower than the 1,020 cases recorded on Sept. 29.

Mandaluyong had registered 91 new COVID-19 cases, including four minors. Two of the patients died in a hospital.

The barangays with the most number of COVID-19 cases are Hulo with 137; Mauway, 69; Highway Hills, 63; New Zaniga, 49, and Plainview, 46.

A total of 25,024 residents and workers in Mandaluyong have contracted COVID-19. Of the figure, 528 died of the viral disease while 23,682 have recovered.

Citing data from the city health office, Mayor Menchie Abalos said 409,145 Mandaluyong residents have been fully vaccinated while 461,324 have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccines.

Abalos urged her constituents to register with the city’s vaccination portal to get their schedule for inoculation.
