One-way traffic scheme set at CCP complex

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will implement a one-way traffic scheme at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) complex from Oct. 1 to 8.

The scheme is meant to decongest the area after the Commission on Elections set the one-week filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) and certificates of nomination and acceptance (CONAs) for next year’s general elections at one of the tents of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

In an advisory, the MMDA said one-way traffic would be implemented along A. dela Rama street, Buendia Avenue and Jalandoni street starting Oct. 1.

The MMDA advised affected motorists to take alternate routes.

The filing of COCs and CONAs this year will not be the same as previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only a limited number of individuals will be allowed to join the potential candidate during the filing.
