Navotas now moderate risk for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Toby Tiangco yesterday expressed hope for a better Christmas in Navotas after the city was downgraded to moderate risk for COVID-19 due to its low average daily attack rate (ADAR).
Tiangco cited the OCTA Research Group report, which showed that Navotas has the lowest ADAR at 13.30 from Sept. 19 to 25.
ADAR is the number of new daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people.
“Let us strive to maintain this for a merry Christmas ahead of us,” Tiangco said in Filipino.
Aside from Navotas, Manila, Malabon, Valenzuela and Pateros were also classified as moderate risk for COVID-19.
The seven-day average of new cases of COVID-19 in Metro Manila was at 4,220, with a one-week growth rate of -20 percent and a reproduction number of 0.94, OCTA said in its report dated Sept. 26.
