A total of 1,741 beneficiaries, mostly composed of persons with disabilities, solo parents, transport workers, out-of-school youth and displaced workers benefitted from the outreach program.

In a message, Go appealed to the public to remain vigilant and comply with health protocols as the number COVID cases driven largley by the Delta variant continued to increase.

He urged Filipinos to get inoculated as soon as vaccines are available in their areas to attain herd immunity.

Go’s team handed out meals, masks, face shields, and vitamins.

Some received new pairs of shoes, computer tablets and bicycles.

In line with his promise to give Filipinos affordable quality health care services, Go said there are five Malasakit Centers in the province that residents may visit if they need immediate medical care.

The center is a one-stop shop that provides convenient access to medical assistance programs of concerned agencies such as the departments of health, and social welfare development as well as Philippine Health Insurance Corp. and Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office.

The centers are located at the New Western Leyte Provincial Hospital in Baybay, Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center in Tacloban, Ormoc District Hospital in Ormoc, Leyte Provincial Hospital, and Governor Benjamin T. Romualdez General Hospital and Schistosomiasis Center in Palo.
