Navotas brings down active cases below 1,000

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in Navotas dipped to below 1,000 as of Friday, according to Mayor Toby Tiangco.

With 918 patients currently under treatment, it was the first time the number of active cases in the city went below 1,000 since the surge, he said.

The positivity rate remains high at 31 percent, far from the two percent rate recorded in January, Tiangco said. He reminded his constituents to help in bringing down the cases by complying with minimum health protocols.
