MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government administered 24,038 doses of COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, its highest single-day figure so far.

All 24,038 vaccinees received their second dose on Monday, the city government said yesterday, adding that it has inoculated 640,562 individuals or 73 percent of the city’s total population of 872,980 as of Sept. 20.

About 62 percent of the total population, or 542,632, are now fully vaccinated.

The city government said it has administered 1,167,169 jabs as of Monday.

In Valenzuela, the city government will start profiling students aged 12 to 17 for COVID-19 vaccination.

Parents are advised to coordinate with the schools and fill out an information sheet to have their children vaccinated, Mayor Rex Gatchalian said yesterday.

The profiling will start today ahead of the vaccination roll-out for eligible youth, Gatchalian added.

Even non-residents who are studying at schools in Valenzuela will be accommodated, the mayor said.
