MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to open its camps when the government allows the rollout of COVID vaccines for minors aged 12 to 17.

In a statement, PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said he ordered the police’s Administrative Support for COVID-19 Task Force to gear up for the vaccination of minors, primarily children and other dependents of PNP personnel.

He said this would help local government units across the country since children of PNP personnel would no longer have to proceed to LGU vaccination sites to avoid congestion.

To date, more than 131,000 out of 222,711 PNP employees have been fully vaccinated while 80,000 others received their first dose.
