54% of Taguig’s target population fully vaccinated
MANILA, Philippines — Over half of Taguig City’s target population have completed their required COVID-19 jabs, the city government reported yesterday.
As of Friday, 330,516 persons finished their required doses, including the single-dose vaccine, donated by the national government, representing over 54 percent of the target population of 611,086.
The city government reported that 635,821 received their first dose, representing 104 percent of the target population.
The city government has opened its COVID-19 vaccination program to those who live outside Taguig but are working in businesses based in the city.
Meanwhile, it said that 57,085 senior citizens in the city received their first dose while 50,944 others completed their required doses.
The city government also called on pregnant women to get vaccinated against COVID-19. It emphasized the position of the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society that COVID-19 vaccines are safe for pregnant women.
