3 siblings dead in Quezon fire

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Three siblings died when a fire destroyed their house in San Francisco, Quezon on Friday.

Town police chief Lt. Jo Alvarez said Shakera Blagon, 5, and her brothers Limbert, 3, and one-year-old Leonel were trapped in their house when the fire broke out at around 5 p.m.

Alvarez said the children were left alone by their parents, who are both farmers, at their house in Barangay Ilayang Tayuman.

Initial investigation showed the fire could have started when Shakera played with a lighter she found at their house.
