MANILA, Philippines — Two more areas in Muntinlupa were placed yesterday under extreme localized community quarantine due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi locked down Unira Compound, Sto. Niño in Barangay Tunasan and Dizon Compound, St. Bernard street, San Jose Village, Barangay Cupang for 15 days.

According to the city health office, there are six active cases of COVID-19 at the Unira Compound for a high attack rate of 301.50 per 10,000 population.

Dizon Compound had an attack rate of 967.74 per 10,000 population and a case doubling time of two days.

Two residents in the area have tested positive for the virus. Sixty others underwent swab tests, city hall said.

Last week, the Muntinlupa government locked down nine areas in the city due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Fresnedi urged the public to strictly follow health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
