MECQ in 2 Pangasinan towns
Meanwhile, Sison and Pozorrubio towns in Pangasinan were placed under modified enhanced community quarantine from Aug. 27 to Sept. 9.
The municipal government of Sison allayed fears of a total lockdown, saying the stricter quarantine classification was meant only to prevent the spread of the virus.
Urdaneta City and Villasis had earlier reverted to general community quarantine.
Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino III expressed concern on the increase in the number of COVID cases in the province with 2,935 recorded on Friday.
Espino said the past week saw a surge in infections with 202 reported on Sunday, 317 on Monday, 344 on Tuesday, 489 on Wednesday, 592 on Thursday and 721 on Friday.
