P62.1 million marijuana destroyed in Kalinga

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines — At least 310,600 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P62.12 million were uprooted at 15 plantations in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Anti-drug operatives discovered P16.4 million worth of marijuana plants in Barangay Loccong and P45.7 million in Barangay Butbut.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said the marijuana plants were destroyed at the site.

Police launched a manhunt for the cultivators of the plantations.
