Edith Regalado - The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A Philippine Airlines Bayanihan flight carrying 271 Filipinos from Dubai arrived at the Davao International Airport on Friday.

City tourism operations head Generose Tecson said 129 seats in the special commercial flight were sold to those who wanted to go home but are not necessarily overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

The passengers underwent reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction testing 28 hours before they boarded the flight. They will be on a facility-based quarantine for 14 days and undergo another swab test on the seventh day.

Of the OFWs recently repatriated from Fiji, Bangladesh and Dubai, who also arrived in this city, 10 tested positive for COVID-19.

They were brought to a treatment facility in this city.
